We're starting this crowdfund to encourage Farcasters to host meetups in their cities. Anyone on FC who organizes a meetup will be eligible to receive up to $500 in funding to help cover costs for food and drinks.
We believe that if we can help make it easier for folks to meetup in the physical world, that'll help the Farcaster community grow stronger.
So whether you're a community member, building a product in the ecosystem, or a believer in a decentralized future, we hope you'll consider contributing.
Why 5 ETH?
There have been 5 community-organized FC meetups this month alone. Assuming an average meetup size of 20 people, with an average cost of $20 per person, 5 ETH (~$9,500 at the time of launch) would be enough capital to provide funding for the next quarter or so.
How do I receive a grant?
Create an @event for your meetup, host a minimum of 5 people, share a photo of the event on Farcaster and mention each of the attendees. We’ll provide $20 per attendee, up to 25 attendees ($500 max).
