Hi, my name is Ina, and I’ve been based in Tokyo for 7 years. I’m a writer for the 'Bee Curious' newsletter-> https://paragraph.xyz/@beecurious, where I feature stories about Japanese culture, travel, food, startups, and more.
I’m reaching out to share my hope of interviewing an extraordinary Japanese athlete, Naoko Watanabe. Naoko was once a nurse here in Japan, and now she’s on the verge of completing all 14 summits in the world (Himalayan peaks), becoming the first Asian woman to achieve this remarkable feat. I reached out to her (screenshot of email in Japanese attached), and she expressed great interest in collaborating.
To share a bit more about her incredible journey, she has broken numerous records, as listed here: https://naoko-watanabe.jp/profile/
Her Records:
->First Japanese woman to summit 13 8000m peaks
->First Japanese woman to summit the world's top three peaks (Everest, K2, Kangchenjunga)
->First Japanese woman to summit 6 8000m peaks in one year
->First Japanese woman to summit Kangchenjunga
->First Japanese woman to summit Annapurna I
->First Asian woman and Japanese woman to summit Makalu twice
->First Asian woman and Japanese woman to summit K2 twice
I’m eager to share her inspiring story with the world on Farcaster, but I need a bit of help. I’m setting up this crowdfi campaign to cover the costs of the interview, and any small donations would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much,
Ina
